Some Brief details of experience and background.

I am a wildlife and travel photographer based in Englefield Green,Surrey. Because of its close proximity to London and its huge population, opportunities for wildlife photography are fairly limited, therefore I am required to travel to get my shots. This usually means a a short drive to rural Hampshire or Sussex or a run to the nature reserves on the coast.
I have been interested in photography for over forty years. Ever since I was given my first camera, a Kodak Brownie 120, by an Aunt. About three to four years ago, I decided to take my interest a lot more seriously with the long term objective of eventually turning professional. To this end I have invested in quality equipment from Canon. This has just been upgraded to a pro specification camera, an EOS 1D MKIII and EF-L lenses.
I have attended numerous training courses and workshops from well known professionals such as Chris Weston and The Canon Experience.
In November 2011. I received my diploma in professional photography from the Photography Institute.
At Wildphotos in October 2008, I was lucky enough to meet one of my photography heros,Jim Brandenburg. A very charming gentleman and inspirational photographer.
My primary field is freelance photojournalism for the wildlife and travel sectors and I have had a number of photographs and articles published. Photography under these conditions is very demanding as failure is not an option. The skills I have gained in planning and execution of a challenging assignment for this exacting market are now available for the commercial market place.
I am perhaps fortunate to work within the travel industry which allows me to indulge my twin passions of wildlife and travel. My recent overseas expeditions have included Tobago, Namibia, Botswana and Yellowstone National Park. A destination that's been on my "to do" list for some time. I took the short Winter Wolf Experience course with the Yellowstone Association Institute, which was an excellent introduction to the park and its wildlife. Yellowstone surpassed all my expectations, it is really awe inspiring, breathtakingly beautiful, rugged and dangerous.
